Meet Dr. Debra Pike, Our New Medical Director

Hi, I’d like to introduce myself: I’m Dr. Debra Pike, an obstetrician-gynecologist currently practicing in Blair County, PA. I’m originally from New England but have spent most of my adult life in Pennsylvania. I went to Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA, followed by medical school at the University of Pittsburgh. I completed my 4-year ob-gyn residency at Western Penn. Hospital in Pittsburgh. I then went into private practice in various locations. I have been honored to deliver many babies throughout PA and now in Altoona. 

I currently work as a faculty member for Altoona Family Practice, a residency program for Family Practice. I teach the residents about low-risk deliveries and assist them with their high-risk patients. It’s a great job getting to teach about one of God’s greatest events in human life, having a newborn baby come into the world! I have been pro-life for many years and remain grateful to my parents for a Christian upbringing. One of my favorite passages in the bible is Psalms 139:13-14.

My husband, Jim, and I have been involved in helping build and develop an orphanage in Guayara-Marin, Bolivia since 2008. I have been involved in the delivery of babies in this third-world country which has been eye-opening. We’ve come to lean on all the high levels of care in our country so it’s an adventure to rely on God for guidance in one of His natural processes for women!

My daughter, Mandy, an RN, has also been to Bolivia. She is now married to Scott, and they have 2 beautiful little daughters, Evie and Livie whom we adore! God has blessed us so!

I am blessed to have been asked to provide some expertise in reviewing obstetrical ultrasounds for Crossroads. I have been engaged with them for several months now and it has been fun. I’m glad that this group exists for the support of the newly pregnant women in the communities in which they serve. They are making an impact on the preborn’s rights and helping women to have a relationship with God so that they know His saving grace. I view this opportunity to advance God’s Kingdom here on earth until Jesus returns! Thank you for the opportunity!
