From The Director: Join The Adventure

We are blessed with an incredible team of devoted staff and volunteers who joyfully and selflessly serve the Lord here at Crossroads. We consider everyone to be a part of our Crossroads family. However, we still have several positions that need to be filled.

"If our church were to disappear tomorrow, would anyone notice?"

Recently, a local pastor posed a thought-provoking question to his congregation: "If our church were to disappear tomorrow, would anyone notice?" This question inspired his church members to seek opportunities to serve in the community. It is a brilliant and excellent question for followers of Christ. As stated in Acts 20:35, "In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work, we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"

Yet, the truth is, we often come up with many reasons why we can't take action, don't we?

“I don’t have time.”

Certainly, there is the issue of time. If you’re finding that desire to impact the lives of women, men, or young people, but are unsure you have the time, we are here to help – working with your schedule so that you can serve.

“I don’t know how.”

Sometimes we feel ill-equipped. If that’s you, remember we are looking for those with a heart for the Lord and a desire to serve. Our training, combined with the Lord working in your heart, will do the rest.

It’s ok, we understand both of these reasons.

However, beyond our excuses, there’s another question that must be considered.

“Am I called?”

If your heart is drawn to protecting life, shaping futures, and sharing the love of Jesus, you may want to seriously consider that question.

We’ve been praying fervently for a new paid employee to fill in the vital position of Client Services Manager for our Huntingdon office. We’ve also prayed for God to bring more women and men to serve as Volunteer Client Advocates, providing one-on-one support to our growing number of clients. We need people who are willing to help teach healthy lifestyles to teens in our Reaching Destination Program. We need a Spanish interpreter in Mifflintown.

God always provides for our needs here and we have faith that He will continue to do so. However, we don’t want YOU to miss out on the adventure of serving Jesus. You probably have questions and we are willing to discuss them. Would you seek the Lord to ask if any positions are meant for you? His answer may surprise you!
