Client Story: Caroline's Unfinished Story

In 2022, Crossroads doubled the number of ultrasounds performed in our Medical Clinics. Each of our 5 offices now is able to offer medical confirmation of pregnancy by ultrasound, along with the other no-cost services available, like pregnancy tests, STD/STI testing and treatment, and material assistance.

Recently one ultrasound patient left feedback saying, "Great experience! Felt safe and welcomed!"

Caroline, a struggling mother with a child in foster care, visited us last year for an ultrasound. She couldn't admit out loud that she was considering abortion but explained that she couldn't financially handle another baby and wasn't in a relationship with the father. Our client advocate introduced her to our Bridges program, providing support and baby items. They discussed her options, including the side effects of the abortion pill, surgical abortion, and open adoption. Caroline was torn but worried she couldn't proceed with her pregnancy. She saw her baby's heartbeat during the ultrasound and faintly smiled but never returned for follow-up appointments.
