PRAYER CHANGES THINGS
By Suzie, Client Service Director
I have a client who is pregnant for the first time. She is coming for Bridges classes and she allows me to close our sessions in prayer. She was in need of a place to live so during a previous visit we prayed for an apartment to be provided for her. When she came in the next week, she shared how God answered that prayer and she would be signing the paperwork the following Monday! She seemed very excited to share that with me and told me she had thought about calling into the office to let me know. She also testified to her boyfriend that God answered her prayer!
During this same session we went up to the baby boutique and she picked out a blanket and a few outfits. We scheduled her next appointment and she left. About ten minutes later she came back into the office. She exclaimed, “We forgot to pray, how did we forget to pray!?” I got up from my desk walked over to her and we prayed together! She thanked me and left. This client didn’t want to leave town until we had prayed together and, in that moment, I realized just how much prayer now means to her.
As we pray with our clients, they begin to “taste and see” the goodness of God! Hebrews 11:6 tells us, “But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
