OUR NEW MIFFLINTOWN OFFICE
We all can quote it, right? “Ask you will receive. Knock and the door will open.” When Tabitha and I started talking about the apparent need for more space in our Mifflintown office, we debated if we should bring it to the board member’s attention at the upcoming Board and Staff meeting. Was it the right time? Was it too close to moving the Mount Union office and shifting the administration office there? Where in the world (of the small area of Mifflintown) would be the right space for us?
But the need was very real, as we had very little storage area for diapers, cribs, and baby bottles. We didn’t have space for a second counseling room so we could utilize volunteers and meet any increase in clients. And our baby boutique was sad and clients rarely took advantage of the clothes and things offered there. So we took a chance and talked with the board about the need and possibilities.
Our Board and Staff meeting was on March 20, 2021, and on April 19, we were touring a new space and the visions for the new space were really coming to life! We opened to clients on August 25, thanks in huge portion to the hard-working volunteers who executed a huge transformation of the space.
Our new office offers many good things, including but not limited to a beautiful, professional space, great visibility in our location, 7’x’9 storage room, rooms for an office, baby boutique, and soon a medical exam room.
What a blessing to testify that we asked and prayed and God provided abundantly more than we could ask or imagine.
Matching Grant Challenge
This summer, we were approached by an anonymous group of people, who care very much about the work Crossroads does in saving lives. They offered us a $10,000 matching grant. This was a wonderful challenge and so we officially opened the Ultrasound Matching Grant Campaign up to you, our partners, on August 16th with the hope and prayer that we could match the amount by September 30th. What happened after that is a testimony to the faithfulness of Jehovah Jireh!
By the end of the first week, we had reached $15,510. We ended the campaign with a total of $53,054.25 to be added to the matching $10,000—for a grand total of $63,054.25! We were amazed at the generosity of our supporters! Thank you for going on and beyond to make this happen!!
This now allows us to purchase a new ultrasound machine for our Mifflintown office and begin bringing all of our medical services there. AND we can buy another new machine, with the most recent technology, to replace the old one we were using in our Lewistown office. We are now well equipped to help women, who want to confirm their pregnancies. We have the privilege of showing them the window to the womb where life begins!
