Ministry Updates and Client Stories

Not This Day

Our vision can sometimes get cloudy. It can be because we’ve looked at the computer screen too intently all day or because we begin to lose sight of the vision of what God requires of us. In order to keep our “vision” clear in 2020, all of us at Crossroads are keenly aware that unless we stay completely focused on Jesus, we can accomplish nothing. Because of this, we start every day on our knees. We enter into worship throughout the day to give honor and glory to the King of kings whose sovereignty is clear. We are reminded that He alone can save. Just as missionaries in other places, the work that we do can be exhausting and frustrating when facing the challenges of a fallen world.

I’m a fan of the “Lord of the Rings” film trilogy. If you’ve seen it, you will remember the “Fellowship of the Ring”, a group formed with the common goal of getting rid of what was evil and protecting what was good. If not, then you probably have your own favorite story of triumph. Stories of adventure, danger and the fight between good and evil seem to captivate our imagination. Could it be we understand in our heart of hearts that life is a battle? And in our case, a battle for the lives we strive to protect from abortion. We also are battling against the chains of despair, worthlessness, and fear the enemy has bound tightly around the hearts of our clients.

In spiritual companionship, we are to act as partners pursuing God and walking this spiritual journey together. A holy fellowship with each other and the body of Christ to take on the mission of our calling. To speak the truth to a world that has been driven into darkness by the enemy. We know a God who gave us an impermeable armor (Eph 6:10-17) and a Name that can bring giants to their knees! We serve the One and only true God, who came to earth as one of us to suffer and die so that we can live. His fellowship with us is life-giving, breathtaking and mind-blowing. It makes us want to change the world because He is always present in us…moving, speaking, revealing and being.

In “The Return of the King”, the third movie of the “Lord of the Rings” series, the character Aragorn says,

“A day may come when the courage of men fails when we forsake our friends and break the bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day.”

All of us at Crossroads recognize that you understand the bonds of fellowship and we are eternally grateful for your willingness to heroically stand with us in 2020 for life in His name.
