A Matter of Life or Death
LETTER FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR: By Cindy Mansberger, Executive Director
A Matter of Life or Death
What would you say and do to help these women seeking an abortion?
“I got out of an abusive relationship recently and I'm finding out now that I am pregnant.”
“I found out I’m pregnant after the guy I was with left me. I have a daughter to someone else and they are now threatening me with taking her for full custody because of this baby. And with this baby, the dad doesn’t want to be together or anything, so I need to do what’s best for me and my daughter.”
“I think I'm pregnant but I'm only 12 years old”
“My abortion failed”
These are actual examples of the many contacts we’ve received this year on our Google landing page form that says, “Tell us about your current situation”.
Maybe the thought of being in conversation with one of these women makes you nervous. After all, it is a matter of life and death in some of these situations. I hope you would listen to her, show care and compassion, and then refer her to Crossroads Pregnancy Center.
The strategies we take to make sure that those considering abortion can find us are absolutely vital for success in saving lives. It takes a “healthy” marketing budget to be able to use popular platforms like Google, but well worth it to quickly reach those in unplanned pregnancies. Every text, every phone call is a story of their unique and difficult situations.
You can be confident that our staff knows what to say and how to handle each of these situations. All are highly trained to know what to do to offer the answers and support she desperately needs. That’s why we are so thankful for you, our supporters, who make sure we can stay current with the latest technological tools in order to be the first trusted option she chooses for help.
On another note, we have had abortion providers refer their patients to us to get an ultrasound before dispensing the abortion pill. Initially, you may think that’s a bad thing, but it is not. It’s another avenue God uses to bring these women to us so that we can have that hour and a half to intervene, bringing truth into their darkness.
Through marketing efforts, various programs, and services, all bathed in prayer, we will continue into 2026 (year forty-one of ministry!) confident that He who has begun a good work will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
Because He lives,
Cindy Mansberger, Executive Director
