Ministry Updates and Client Stories

Our Response in This Time

In April, as the closures were extended, we were able to put things in place to reopen our Medical Clinics. We also sent our Client Service Directors (CSD) back to work through virtual appointments.

Tresa, our nurse, will be able to give pregnancy tests, ultrasounds and STD tests in our clinics. And we foresee an increase in the need for pregnancy confirmation as the stay-at-home order continues. Our CSD’s have been working via phone to contact their clients. They were also able to give out items that were needed.

We also delivered diapers to WIC and several food pantries, along with offering free diapers to the public from our offices.

A Bridges client, who is in her second trimester and pregnant with her 2nd child, shared with her CSD over the phone that she was laid off. Her nerves have been terrible lately because of this virus and she's scared she won't be able to have a baby shower. She has no clothing for her baby girl and she needs many things before she brings her home.

Her CSD assured her that Crossroads would help her in any way we could. She thanked us over and over for all we do and are doing. She stated her stress will now be so much better knowing she will have what she needs for her baby, thanks to Crossroads.

She told us she had been talking to her Gram, sharing her worries about not finding diapers or wipes for the baby because the stores are always sold out. Her grandma assured her God would provide. She then stated “This is the way He is providing, through Crossroads!”

We always strive to follow God’s calling for our ministry. But in times like these we are already seeing fruit as God is using us to meet needs that are more intense than ever. •
