His Light is Shining!
By Cindy Mansberger, Executive Director
Light in the darkness (John 1:5) has been our theme throughout 2026. What an amazing year it has been. As I type this letter, it’s only October 12th, and Crossroads has already served 338 individuals in 2,337 visits.
His light is shining!
At this year’s banquet, we brought our attendees up to date with what’s happening in the world around us. We exposed the devil’s schemes and followed it with how God is shining in this darkness through Crossroads. I told our guests what happened to me just before the event; I thought I would put it here for those who didn’t hear my story.
For weeks prior to our events, I felt a very pressing need to pray over these banquet nights. Each time we step out and expose the darkness, we can expect the enemy to have a target on our heads, and I wanted to be sure we were covered. It was two days before the first night of banquet. After mowing the grass, as I put our mower back into the shed, I hit a bee's nest…yellow jackets, to be exact. Yes, they began stinging me, but that wasn’t the worst part. As I turned to run in my “not so great for running” work boots, I took a nose dive onto my driveway. After determining whether or not any bones were broken, I got up and limped to my bathroom mirror. Two big bumps near my left eye. “You’ve got to be kidding! I’ll have a lovely black eye just in time for speaking in front of hundreds of people!”
In that moment, God let me know that my black eye would be an outward manifestation of the spiritual battle we face every day as we protect the sanctity of life. It’s true. This is a battle, but one we are willing to engage in to defend the lives of the unborn and advance the Gospel to the lost in our communities.
Our medical clinics have been very busy with pregnancy tests and ultrasounds. The E3 Program is also increasing in appointments. Our nurses are completing their education to be Lactation Counselors so that we can add this to our 2027 medical services.
Our other services, such as the Bridges Program, Pregnancy Loss Bible studies, and Blueprints, continue to thrive. Our Reaching Destinations division is growing and is now presenting in more public schools than ever.
Without your support, all of this would stop. Crossroads exists because of people like you who give and pray. Thank you. Those two little words don’t seem like enough, but please accept them from the bottom of our hearts. You have helped make this year an amazingly bright one in the midst of all the darkness. Now, unless He returns first, we look forward to shining His light even more in 2027!
