Blessings: Client Story
As the Nurse Manager at Crossroads, I have limited contact with our patients and possible future clients. I see them for their medical appointments and will contact them with a follow-up phone call, but I don’t usually get the blessing of seeing their decisions after an ultrasound. When I have an abortion-minded patient, not knowing the outcome of their decision can be emotionally draining.
Three years ago I performed an ultrasound on a young woman who came in after she had taken the “morning after” pill or Plan B, and she still became pregnant. She was obviously abortion-minded when she arrived for the appointment. After seeing her beautiful baby and that tiny heart beating on the ultrasound, she left and I hadn’t heard from her since.
A few days ago, I was shopping and heard my name called. I turned and there was the young woman. She came running up to me and threw her arms around me—pulling me close to her for a hug. She said, “I would like to introduce you to someone.”
She turned and introduced me to a beautiful little boy with dark curly hair and big blue eyes! She said, “Sammy, I want you to meet Tresa. She took your very first picture!” Sammy, who was busy eating a snack, looked up and smiled, and went back to eating his snack.
It's not very often that I get to find out the outcome of a pregnancy, but when I do, it makes it all worthwhile. As I looked at the pride and joy this mom displayed when she introduced me to her son, I am grateful to God for giving me this blessing. This reassurance that the work Crossroads is doing is making a difference in this community and in God’s kingdom. There are tears of joy and gratitude in my eyes as I write about this gift and testimony to God’s goodness and glory!
